The engine buyer must bring his boat to any reputable shop to have important adjustments made and to catch any part failures, mistakes, leaks, etc. made in or since the installation. Bolts must be checked for tightness, manifolds retorqued, ignition timing reset, choke & carb adjustments and valve lash adjustments if necessary. The cooling system must be checked for leaks, belts readjusted and a lOW40 oil and filter change must also be performed. This service is charged to the customer at prevailing rates.
The engine buyer must keep proof, in the form of machine printed and dated receipts, of oil & filter changes performed every 50 hours of running time or 6 months, which ever comes first. This proof must come from the licensed repair shops or oil change facilities that performed the service. If you change your own oil, auto parts store receipts are satisfactory.
